Miles has a new favorite phrase…”What’s that?” He points at EVERYTHING and asks his favorite question. It’s amazing how in just a few weeks he seems like he is trying to talk more. Of course, we only understand about 5% of what comes out of his mouth.
Last weekend we had a bit of excitement when Eric decided to slice off the end of his thumb. He was able to have the piece stitched back on at the ER. Lesson learned: don’t remove the safety guard from a mandolin just to get a more thinly sliced potato.

After stopping by the County Line for a reunion dinner with Eric’s old high school coworkers,
we headed to Eric’s dad’s house for a little firework fun. Eric figured Miles was old enough to play with his first fireworks. Miles LOVED holding the sparkler.

Last Friday, we had to put Darby to sleep. It was obvious over the past several weeks that she was slowing down but after what seemed to be a stroke we decided it was time for one last trip to the vet. Darby was Eric’s first baby and we will both miss her very much.

Eric and I met up with his sister, her hubby and our nephew for a visit to their Gramma Warner in Champaign, Il.
At 91, Gramma Warner is in better shape than most 65-year olds. After a few days visiting her and other family in the area we headed to St. Louis to rendevous with Chris and Kim.
Miles definitely had not forgotten his ‘aunt’ and ‘uncle’ We all made a trip down to the arch but unfortunately Eric and I did not have enough time to take the elevator to the top.
After our quick look at the arch we headed to Busch Stadium and met up with Eric’s cousin, Scott, for a Cardinals Baseball game. We won
It was a quick trip but we managed to fit a lot in. Considering that Miles missed most naps and stayed up late every night he was on his best behavior.
