Lyla proves to have good aim…

I have to start with today’s funny event. I was changing Lyla and Miles decided he wanted to watch. The pack-n-play changing table is about eye level for Miles. He was standing on his tip toes watching at Lyla’s feet. Sure enough she let loose a strong stream and hit him square in the face. He stood there for the full peeing with a stunned look on his face, then stuck his fingers in his mouth and tasted it. I did what any good mother would do and laughed my behind off before drying his face and changing his clothes. :)

On to the good stuff! This has been a busy week. Miles spend yesterday puking every hour. Eric and I worked very hard to keep him away from Lyla since a fever for her could mean hospitalization. Thankfully today he seems MUCH better. Lyla seems to have avoided it.

Last Tuesday my mom and I got up at 5:15am, loaded up the kids and drove to Dallas for a quick day trip so Lyla could meet her great grandparents. First, we had a fun gathering with my dad’s side of the family and I even got to meet my new cousin, Hunter, who is only a few months older than Miles.

Then it was off to meet my mom’s parents, whom I refer to as Gama and Bapa.

Miles was a champ for the entire trip. Thank God for my mom’s DVD player in her car. I only wish we had more time to spend with everyone. We made it home by 9:45pm that night and were incredibly exhausted.

Miles enjoyed playing on Mema's dog while we visited

It was so worth it, though.

Last Sunday our good friend, Marisa, brought her twins and an awesome thai dinner over. Miles had a great time playing with Mischa and Tasha.

All in all we are doing great. Lyla gained a full pound in 2 weeks.

Daddy is soooo tired after a long day with the kids
Big yawn!

I’m actually taking the advice I never took when Miles was a newborn and am napping when Miles naps. Sure the house is a disaster but at least I’m sane. For all those people who think having 2 kids is three times as hard as having one – I have to disagree. I think going from no kids to one kid is SO much harder. It’s been a lot easier to adapt to life with Lyla than it was adapting to life with Miles. Of course, she has been a sweet, little, perfect angel so I think that has A LOT to do with it.

Lisa, you are amazing! I still don’t like to leave the house with the baby and he is 7 months old now. I am so glad y’all are doing well.

You’re soooooo right. Having a 2nd kid is amazingly easy compared to having the first one! I just wish my toddler still napped!
